2.5" could be radicans. I think the original photo was deceiving because the thing was so short. There are lotsa possibilities though.

Thumbs down pictures

due to a technical error on my part (i.e. I posted the card from my camera through a slot that no longer has a card reader on the inside !!!! and the technician [husband] has gone to bed with bronchitis) no picture tonight. I did get a good one though and also one of a Paphiopedilum that Tony has. It looks like radicans to me.

Back tomorrow am with pics. Promise.

I am almost thinking obrienianum. Compare it to this one in nature This also gets quite long, but the leaves are shorter as Ray suggested.

Thanks, Ross. I am on holiday in Austria at th moment but l'll check this out on a bigger screen than my son's notebook when I get home.

Went to Schonnbrunn Palace Vienna yesterday the glasshouse had orhids which I photographed - will post in my gallery when i return.
