This is my 1st post to the board, although I visit daily for info, etc. About an hour ago while watering and inspecting one of my Catt's, I inadvertently broke a lead which was just beginning to sheath (I think). This Catt. is my one-and-only 'bag orchid' which I picked up on a whim about three months ago and it has really taken off, until now! Question #1: Do i need to seal the broken lead? #2: Is there any other care needed? #3: What growth can I expect in the future now that the lead is gone?
There's nothing to do to help sealing it back, and you don't need to. There's no other care that is needed also; if the plant really takes off and start growing, then I guess the root is doing ok, that's what you should care about the most -ROOTS. For the 3rd question, I'd say as long as there're viable root, another new shoot will soon replace the lost one, check for the most obvious "eye" at the base of the rhizome. Good luck! However, no flower just yet
