Lacy or Gauzy Curtain Enough?

Hi! I am thinking of using a sheer lacy curtain or a "chiffon"-type curtain to shield my orchids from the sun? When I say lacy - I mean the whole thing is lace, it has holes. What I mean by "chiffon" is like see-through negligee type fabric.

Would these be enough protection or I need something thicker?

Depends on what window you're using and how much light comes thru. It's definately worth a shot to see how your 'chids like it. I would monitor closing to see if the leaves are getting sun burn.

It also depends on what kind of orchids you are growing in the window as some like and and take more sun than others.......basically, we need more information. LOL

Yes I believe it will cut down sun intensity. Only a light meter will say for sure.
