light through white sheet

So I am going to cunstuct my outdoor orchid cage soon, but I have some things to fix/change before I construct the thing

If the top was covered with a white cloth, but recieved full sun midday, would that burn the leaves (through the cloth)?

Nope! It would reduce light intensity significantly. A single layer of poly sheeting (Visqueen is one brand) will reduce light by something like 25%. So I am going to guess here (without ever measuring) you will see approx 25%-50% of full sunlight. Keep in mind that at your latitude, full sunlight is less than half that at the equator. That's where measurements of "full sunlight" are usually taken.
