Tree fern mounts

I recently acquired two Oncidiums (Sharry Baby and Ornithorhynchum) via Ebay and I've been looking at some tree fern products (ball or Monkey statue) to mount these on. As anyone used the tree fern ball to mount their special orchid on? And what material did you use to hang the mount? Thanks. would be nice to see what the end result look like.

Growing on tree fern anything is not a rare occurrence.

I grow one Bulbophyllum sp., another Bulbophyllum sp., an Epigeneium sanseiense, all my Oberonias, and Eria tomentosiflora(?) on tree fern plaques.

They're hung using a wire.

Tree fern is readily available here and everybody uses it on their orchids. I even use tree fern chunks in my orchid baskets and pots.
