Right, I agree AC's do strip out moisture from the air, (thank god for human's) but then, there's the colder air mass aswell. It doesn't take days and days to dry out with the AC, but it does make some difference (imho)

Cam, Clouds will ship out potting material, but you have to buy it with an order of plants. Yeah I know, but that's the way they do it
Uh yes you probably right about the smaller perlite some will hit the bottom or float. If I use the smaller grade with sphag which I had, (couldn't find the larger stuff til clouds) I just rolled it up in cut up sphagnum - or just get the larger stuff, LOL!

oooh so they will ship it!!! hmmm but with plants... I'm running out of room!! They are ok now, but I get problems when the phals bloom.. cause the spike on the phal becomes too large for the lower shelves of my orchid shelf.. does the perlite count for part of the 50$, or is it additional? since I do not have room, maybe I'll have to buy that emerald paph small seedling for 65$ (it will also save me on shipping )
for now, I am using small styrofoam pieces, which seems to be doing fine (I hope)
