Hey again, orchidboard folks. Thanks for a warm (and humid, yet breezy . . .
) welcome. Now I have another question.
I'm wondering about
misting plants such as phals, or in my case, two Dtps. "Hybridizer's Dream" 'Carmela' in tiny 2.5 inch pots. I have one inches beneath a shop light fixture. The other is slightly shaded by a tangerine tree in a south window.
I know that phals and phal-type orchids can't tolerate being watered too frequently, so I've been waiting for soil to get nice and dry before doing this. But, I can't seem to keep from wanting to spray them with my distilled water plant mister all the time! It's actually pretty fun for me to do this, so I probably do it once or twice each morning and then anytime I see them in the afternoons. I DO try to hold off before bedtime, to prevent rot.
This is a pretty weird question, but I'm just wondering! Is anybody else a "mister addict"? Do you have automated
misting setups? Room humidifiers? Ever had a problem
misting too much?
Thanks!
Christina
