Books about orchids
Hello
I've been amassing a pile of summer reading books (already got through 'The Orchid Thief'!) and I was wondering if anybody could recommend some good orchid books. I'm really interested in finding one that describes the different orchid genus/species, perhaps with information about wild orchids... I've read, and own, a few culture books already and I think I'd like to get a better idea about the family as a whole. Does anybody know of a good book like this, or can anyone recommend a really good culture book (while I'm at it!)? Thanks!

Hello Foxtailskies!
Have you read Orchid Fever yet? It's by Eric Hansen. That is just a fun read. If you look under site menu to the left here, you'll see a Book Reviews section. That should be lots of help to you for finding that perfect book. If not, let us know and we will find some more to recommend.

Northens' Home Orchid Growing, though a bit outdated is such a delight to read, and so complete, that its still recomended. Also her miniature orchids.
Otherwise I would pick up regional orchid "floras" (from the regions that interest you) and study them.
Good luck.

I recently finished Orchid Fever and will second Kiki's recommendation. It was a fun, interesting and very fast read. I'm currently wading through Dendrobium and It's Relatives. It's very comprehensive, and so far interesting. Dens interest & confuse me so thought I'd better know what was what with them. There are lots of books out there about specific genre. Just pick one and go for it.

Flora’s Orchids. great book that includes both an encyclopedia on over 1500 species, as well as growing, prop tips, etc.

I purchased Flora’s Orchids off eBay for $10.00(fantastic price) It proved to be a very valuable book. I would highly recommend it.

Adaptation
"Adaptation" is not a book but a great movie with Nicholas Cage that I enjoyed very much and I think you will too... It's hard to find but I recommend it.
