problems with various phaleonopsis' Female
Default problems with various phaleonopsis'

I have noticed dropletts of sticky liquid on the underneath of 4 of my phal's. What is this, is it bad, and how do i fix it?
One of my long time phals has split leaves is that harmful?
A recently repotted phal w/ kiki is tinged w /yellow is that stress and will it kill the kiki?
Also how can I help the kiki grow roots?
Sorry for the length of the post but i have a lot of q's stored up.

ok. let's start with the phal. I had a simlar prob with one of mine. when i got it it was yallowing on the leaves due to overwatering, and from the weight of the leaves pulling down, caused them to begin to split. since then, has grown new leaves and the split leaes are doing very well too, so i dont think the splits will be any problem. I't's been 3 years, and is still growing strong

was the plant dry when repotted ? I've learned the hard way that repotting before the roots dry makes a very stressful change for both the plant and me cuz then i have had to nurse it to make sure it accepts the change well. I maybe wrong, but that is jus my experience

i think the sticky stuff is like sap- there is a previous thread about it- (don't taste it there may be insecticides) but i think it occurs when the plant is very happy and has excess sugars so it releases them? mine do it and they are very healthy.

I agree. It comes from pressure as the sugars from the plant push thru the cell walls. You'll see this a lot when a plant is flowering too. It's a good thing.

Hi there polishdaple!

For the keiki roots, you may want to try misting it and maybe some rooting hormone like KLN, maybe Superthrive. Does your little baby have any roots right now? I think some people have used keiki paste and keiki pro, so hopefully someone that's used it can chime in.
The repotted phal w/keiki is tinged with yellow? What's yellowing, the leaves? Were the leaves yellow prior to the repot?
Anyway, welcome to the OB! Keep those questions coming!
