I've heard you shouldn't get water on buds or blooms when watering. Is this the case for all orchids or are some more susceptible than others? How does one go about watering plants that you typically dunked or showered in the past when the inflourescence is so close to the plant? I'd think it's ok to get them wet considering in the wild it rains on the entire plant, not just the roots.
While, in the wild, orchids get wet over the whole being, in the house or greenhouse, conditions are vastly different. I try to keep water off the blossoms. In the wild, the blossoms may get marred or spotted or blemishes and probably no one cares. But your hobby plants probably want to be as perfect as you can muster. I would recommend keeping water away from blossoms.
