I am despertely searching for an orchid that was named for my father by Mr. Jim Tapscott here in Ownsboro Kentucky many years ago. I would love to find a picture of it to give him for Father's Day. I have tried everywhere even going to Tapscotts floral wholesale company this morning that has been in business since 1939.No luck there. Is there a central place where orchids are restgistered when they are named? Please notify me if you have an idea-Chips530@aol.com Thank you...Dianne
There IS a central place they are registered, but my mind is a blank! It's something like Royal Horticultural... or Royal Botantical... Kew Botanical...
It's in England, I think? Hope this helps. Someone else will know for sure! Where's Dorothy? She'll post the exact link eventually.
It does not appear to be a registered grex name for any orchid with RHS. It might be a clonal name for some other hybrid or species. Can you give us a little more information?
Ray has information on Orchid registration - Registering Your Orchid Hybrid
Perhaps you can contact them about your orchid ..
Terri brings up a good point .. is the orchid's registered name or is it a cultivar (clonal) name after your father ?
