although, I bet your phrags are more tolerant of this than phaphs would be ( not that I'd want to experiement )

The few Slippers i have stand in shallow trays of water 24/7 they have been growing like that for years.

Yeah, I'm lucky they were Phrags. They are the only ones I water like that. Good thing they like to be wet!

Have you ever experienced a tropical rainshower? It is coming down in buckets for hours. Everything is soaked and drenched with abundance of water. So donīt worry.
It makes a difference if you do it in the growing or dormant season. And it makes a difference between phragmipedium, who grow as terrestrials with their feet in the water, and phalaenopsis, who are epiphytic. The roots of phalaenopsis like to dry out between watering.
