Default How often to use KLN

Hello everyone! I just bought some KLN and was wondering how often I should use KLN to get roots. Should I do it with every watering? Is it OK to use KLN and water alone with no fertilizer?

How fast does KLN work? Can you see new roots within a week?

It's just 2 drops/gallon of water right?

Thanks.

i think it depends if you have roots already or not. i think the general notion is a bit more for soaking your medium before repotting and for first watering, then a few drops.
i use about 7 drops (around 1/2 cc ? per gallon) with every watering. that said, i have a recently purchased phal sitting pretty in sphag-n-bag sans roots, and i'm not watering it at all, just have the stuff moistened with my watering mix.

I use two drops per gallon fertilizer solution with every watering. Hope this helps. Want to see the results? Never use more than 2 drops per gallon on a regular basis.

If you follow the directions on the bottle, you'll have great results...I use it (as Ross said) everytime I water and EVERY plant I have is busting with new roots...

And you can use kln without fertilizer. If the orchid doesn't have much for roots fertilizer won't be doing much for it anyway. Once it starts growing good roots then I would add a little.

Default How long does it take?

Thank you for all your advice!

Ross, your roots are incredible!! How come they are growing out straight out like that? HOw long did it take to get roots like that? Was it rootless to start with or did it have a modest # of roots?

By the way, the back of the bottle has different directions for different kinds of plants - which one am I supposed to follow, the one for airplants?

Use 1 or 2 drops per gallon and you'll be fine.

Those white roots are from one season growth (last year). Previous seasons have wimpy brown roots. This season's roots have started as have branches and green tips on last year's. They are straight because they grow away from the light. The photo is not the normal growing area - just a convenient way to take the picture. Hope this helps. By the way, KLN is most effective if applied fresh. Breaks down pretty fast if left in high light and warm. I add mine just before watering.
