Requierements for day and night temperatures for Cattleyas Male
Default Requierements for day and night temperatures for Cattleyas

Hello, I was wondering if my night temperatures of 20-22C (68F-72F) are in an acceptable range for Cattleya species in general during this time of year in spring. During the day, under LED lights they can reach 28C, but they usually stay whithing a 25-28C (77F-82F) range I say that because I am afraid they might be too high right now, but I really struggle to reduce my indoor temperatures at night to go lower than that.

During the winter my temperatures range from 23-24C (73F-75F) during the day to 18-19C (64F-67F) during the night. As you can see I am able to make a season differential, but I don't know if it's enough. I also change my LED light duration between seasons from 11 hours to 13 hours

I mostly grow species like lueddemanniana, mossiae, dowiana, warneri, labiata, trianae, maxima, walkeriana, nobilior... So I wanted to know if the temperature difference may be enough to trigger flowering on these species. They also receive a dry period during winter.

Thanks a lot!

I don't have a Cattleya species just a hybrid but mine gets the same temperature ranges and I get blooms every year. Same with my Laelias. I also adjust the number of light hours for the seasons but it never gets colder than upper 60's since I grow indoors in California.

I think normal seasonal temperature changes in a home aresufficient for most Catts.
