Dark Spots and Patches on Phalaenopsis Leaves: Disease or Something Else?
Default Dark Spots and Patches on Phalaenopsis Leaves: Disease or Something Else?

Hi! Everyone,
I have two Phalaenopsis that I suspect might have leaf diseases, and I was hoping you could help me identify and treat them.
The one with the mottled leaves has a long dark line and many small dark spots. The other one has brown patches on its leaves. I've attached pictures of both plants for your reference.
Could you please take a look and let me know what you think? Any advice on how to treat these issues would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for your help!

First picture looks like mechanical damage. The rest look fine. Some phals have inherited speckled leaves (schilleriana, lindenii). High light will change leaf colors on the edges (frequently to magenta tones).

Thank you all for your helpful responses to my question about my phalaenopsis! I ended up cutting part of the leaf, and so far, the plant looks normal. Thanks again for your help!

In the future, don’t cut such stuff. It’s just a scar, and you wouldn’t amputate part of your body because of a scar, would you?
