Have this growing next to a new growth of an intergenic oncidium. Does not look like new growth, flower spikes usually comes between the last leaves on the psedobulb. Was in flower last Jan-feb. Is it a mutated new growth?
It's a new growth that has its tip trapped among the roots. It may straighten itself out. I would consider using a toothpick or swizzle stick gently to pull back the roots and free the tip of the shoot. It is delicate and may break with very little force. I would not apply any manipulation to the tip of the growth itself.
