Angraecum help

Hello everyone. I’ve had this Angraecum sesquipedale for over a year iirc and have never had issues. About 3-4 weeks ago it started shedding lower leaves slowly. In total it’s lost 3 and it looks to loosing more. There have been no real changes to care so I’m unsure what the issue is. In this pic I just finished watering.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

That looks like sunburn.

I would pot it more deeply, but I don't think high potting is causing the yellowing.

I have it under lights and I have had no changes in lighting in a long time. I could try to place it a little lower under the lights, but up until recently it had been thriving. Does it need watered more frequently possibly?

I recently lost an angraecum to a problem that appeared much the same. In my research for a cause I read that they are susceptible to fungal infection. I have been looking for that article and can't seem to locate it, but if I had it to do over again I would treat with Physan 20 at the recommended concentration. It can't hurt and could help. Good luck.

The good leaves look very pale, a healthy Angraecum should have fairly dark green leaves. It does look like too much light. Also, monopodial orchids tend to shed lower leaves as a response to "drought" reduce water loss, which would make me wonder about either inadequate water or rotted roots.

My angraecum sesquipedales are very thirsty plants— they have a resevoir of water that I try to keep full. I say “try” because my larger one drains it almost daily.

As mentioned above they are known for susceptibility to fungal diseases, although I tend to think of these as brown and soft.

The leaves were much greener until the last 4 weeks. It also has shed several very large leaves at the bottom which makes it look like it’s planted way too shallow now. The roots are firm and appear healthy. I treated it with physan 20 last night and raised the light several inches. I’m hesitant to replant and further shock it. This was such a healthy plant so I’m stumped. Maybe I didn’t water enough? It did get hotter in the grow room, but I usually water it every 3-4 days and rarely soak it.

I think it needs more water, so long as the mix is well drained. I wouldn't let a sesquipedale get completely dry.

Would you recommend watering daily for a while to see if it recovers? I’ve just increased the frequency to every other day, but could water daily if root rot isn’t a concern.
