Default Cattleya maxima

I don't have much contribution to bloom as it came with sheath, brought from Ecuagenera.

It opened couple of days back but today morning I noticed fragrance like roses and also color became more darker pink/purple.

can you show a photo of the whole plant? This may be the highland type of C. maxima - shorter growths (the lowland type tends to be very tall), flowers a little smaller than the lowland type but with deeper color that becomes more saturated as the flowers mature. If that is the case, it is also quite cold-tolerant (I grow mine outside in coastal southern California, it does fine with winter chill. The lowland type needs warmth) Mine did come from Ecugenera, some years back.

@Waterdog, C. maxima petals are a bit floppy by nature... that's just what they do. It certainly makes up for that for that "fault" (from human point of view not the natural polinator's, nature doesn't have "faults", satisfying judges is not a consideration) with the gorgeous lip.
