Default Catasetum help

Hello,

This is my first Catasetum I’ve tried to grow. The first season I had it, it produced a decent sized growth. However, the second season growth was much smaller and ended up rotting off in the winter despite no waterings. I have attached a picture of its new growth this season. I was wondering if I should begin watering, or if I should keep holding off?

Thank you for your time and help,

Nicolas D. Perez

Others may disagree, but if it were my plant, I'd start watering. If the roots are still short, you can water around the edges so they don't stay wet. But given that the p-bulb is shriveled, I'd lean toward "water" - it has no reserves.

I would water, too. The leaves are drying out.
