Default Are these root hairs or something else?

I have had a few orchids for over a decade, but have severely neglected and even killed a few the last few years. We live in Wisconsin and I know our conditions aren’t great. I finally started trying to make the plants happy again about two months ago. I got a little heat mat and a grow light, and I have seen an explosion of new root growth on all three orchids I am trying to save. However, today, I noticed these white fuzzy things on all of the roots of one of them. It isn’t anywhere else in the pot, so I am hoping it is root hairs and not a mold or fungus. Can anyone confirm which it is?

Welcome to the Orchid Board!

White fuzzy fungus grows on dead tissue, not on living tissue. It also prefers cool temperatures. I think those roots look fine.

Grats, and welcome aboard! Where in Wisconsin are you, generally speaking?
