Default Problem?

Im just wondering what or if Im doing something wrong. Everytime I come to the board, it shows me as logged in, then when I go to a thread, everyone else seems to see pics from the thread starter except me. Then it tells me Im not logged in, after I go through the action of logging in numerous times I still have the same problem. This is wih recient threads.

When you go to log in, do you check the "keep me logged in" bix?

I don't know what to do about the photos. Some I can see on my desktop but not phone. Others don't show on the phone one time, but another time they do show.

Also, some of the reply messages send you to the http:// version of the site. Change it to https://

And if it still keeps happening, remember that the software running the board is old. Old-old. OB sat behind the hamster-dance website in home room.

Thanks everyone, and to Ray ,yes I did have one but it kept eraseing messages from people I needed to hear from. Probably my fault. I never was good with computers. My first one was a Compact back in the 80s .

You can tell your browser to allow cookies and pop-ups from orchidboard.com. To get around that http:// vs https:// problem, you can either bookmark the https:// version - and use that to get into the site rather than links in the emails, or when you get an email link with http:// and click it, if you go up to the address bar and add the "s", hit <enter> it tends to remember your login.

An issue I sometimes have with pictures that people post from an external service where others can see it and I can't has to do with my server not being able to reach the 3rd party service. A test of that... if you just start a reply (don't have to actually send it) using the Quote functon, you'll see the actual path to the external site. Try copying that (minus the URL flags) and paste into address bar - if you can't see the photo that way either, it's a routing issue to the external service, usually comes back eventually.

Yes, the OB software is older than dirt. Amazing that it works as well as it does considering that internet standards keep changing. But these "features" are annoying, indeed.

Roberta, I will try to figure it out how to do that but I only use my iphone 15 pro or my mini- ipad which has a bigger screen. I do have a laptop, but I never use it.
Sorry, thanks much for the advice.
