Default Bare root vandas to baskets/pots

I just received a rather large order of vandas in from Motes. I grow indoors so my plan was to put all my vandas on baskets and the smallest ones possibly even in pots, but upon receiving my order today I’m left scratching my head. The plants, most of which I expected seedlings, arrived with them being much much larger than I expected. These are all flowering size and some very mature. I didn’t anticipate needing baskets this large. Most of mine are only 6”. The roots are so vigorous I don’t think I can get most in an 8” basket.

I guess my question is for recommendations. Should I just soak these in water for a couple of hours and hope that makes them more pliable? I will definitely need to order larger baskets. Would I be better trying 8” or larger baskets? Would the plastic 8” be better Al than wood since deeper? I’m trying to figure out what to do. I can hang them temporarily, but I need a long term solution. Here’s a pic for example

Do you have a bathroom where you don't need the bathtub or shower that you can convert to "Vanda City"? Here's what I did for the Vandas when I was living in a condo, to protect them for the winter. http://orchidcentral.org/GrowingAreas/Vandacity.jpg
I even rigged a "sprinkler system". a submersible pump in a 5 gallon bucket.

Once the weather warms up in a month or so, I suggest that you move them outside, give them a good bath every day or 2 with a hose (or rain if Mother Nature cooperates). So you can do the dunking temporarily. You can figure out an indoor arrangement for next fall/winter. But they're happiest when the roots run free.

Unfortunately, putting them outdoors isn’t an option currently. My concern is with these plants being so large would the roots be able to adapt to a hanging basket with a spagnum/bark mix similar to how Fairorchids (Kim) grows them?
