Definitely. Mine are simply outside all the time, experience all the changes of the weather across the seasons. If one were to start the process, now is the time - in spring, days are getting warmer and longer. By next fall and winter, the plants will be acclimated because they will have experience the cooling trend gradually. This works over most of the California coast (at least from San Francisco south). Not so much in inland areas that may get sudden hard frost in fall (or early spring)
