Is this yellowing concerning?

Hello guys! Today I realized a bit of yellowing on my Phal. Liodoro and I was wondering if it can be of any concern since it appeared on one of the newest leaves. I am pretty sure I haven't overwatered and it always gets like the rest of my orchids filtered sunligh. I did recently repot it like the rest of my new orchids so maybe it's a bit of stress? I don't know maybe I am being paranoid so sorry for that just want to be able to act as fast as possible if there is an issue.

Looks like a potential nutrient deficiency - although I'll admit, they are hard to diagnose.

Try watering it a few times with water containing about 2 ml/L Epsom Salt.

Actually that makes sense since I got it a few weeks ago and I haven't fertilized it because I thought it would give the plant too much stress from the shipping plus the repotting after so I just started fertilizing it again. My fertilizer is one similar to the MSU formula so I think it will be getting enough Magnesium from the info I gathered from your website (thanks!) if I calculated the ppm correctly.

When I get a new orchid do you think I should refrain from fertilizing it for like a week? Or can I just fertilize it in the next watering if it looks healthy? Thanks a lot!

Orchids can be fertilized regularly whenever in active growth. Some slow down in the winter, and need much less, or no fertilizer.

Phals. are among those orchids that can grow and be fertilized all year. In general they desire warm to hot temperatures, low light and regular watering. If the medium has large air spaces they can stay moist, and there is no worry of overwatering.

Most of the time with a Phal. people think the problem is overwatering, but it is usually a combination of temperatures too low and not enough air at the roots.

Ahhh that makes so much sense so I can just pretty much fertilize weekly with about 100 ppm of N dosing and be fine all year round.

My medium is a mixture of bark, sphagnum and some perlite. I added a bit more of sphagnum since here in Spain it gets very hot so I wanted try and not have to water every few days. Hope that's fine

I'll check it out thanks a lot for pointing it out. I have for years been growing aroid plants and recently this year I moved onto the orchid territory because of the huge variety and I am just obsessed

Several people here have been growing orchids for years, and recently became enchanted with aroids! You can find the threads with the Search feature an the various names.

It really makes sense for both "worlds" to be so connected since they mostly have similar requirements and the combination of both is truly making my house look like a jungle haha
