Spike is blooming to early? Is my Sharry Baby sick? Female
Default Spike is blooming to early? Is my Sharry Baby sick?

Hello my Orchid Experts,
I previously posted photos of my Sharry Baby's 1st spike bloom. They were and still are beautiful and smelling like a sweet treat. However, her 2nd spike, which I thought was moving along nicely, with buds coming in, 1 to 3, each niche, today has decided to start opening her buds! I fear I must have done something wrong to her to make this happen! I feel horrible! I thought I was doing everything to the letter but I must have missed something. I've attached some pictures that I just took so, plz, if anyone can tell me what happened, I'd be greatly appreciative. If there is something I can do in the future to prevent this, I'll do it. I just feel like a failure. Thanks in advance for any help and advice

What's the problem? It's blooming.

I'm sorry, maybe I am wrong. I thought that the second spike's flowers would be around the same quantity as the 1st spike. I was afraid because there are so few buds compared to the other one. The flowers are also smaller. I guess I freaked out a little. I thought I probably did something wrong. My apologies everyone.

No worries... Think of the second spike as a bonus. The plant may not have had the extra oomph to do another spike as big as the first. Plants do what they "want" to. Just enjoy it!

For what it’s worth, my Sharry baby did the same thing with her first bloom. The first spike was amazing… huge, lots of branching, and full of little fragrant blooms. The second spike bloomed later and was smaller and some of the buds blasted. All you can do is give it the best care you can, and it will bloom how it pleases (or not!).
