Please use the nomenclature standards properly. Male
Default Please use the nomenclature standards properly.

I'm sorry if this is perceived as a "Karen moment" on my part, but for discussion correctness leading to people better understanding what is trying to be communicated, PLEASE use naming nomenclature correctly.

Genus is always capitalized in an orchid name. It is not capitalized if you are discussing the genus, as in "those cattleyas are great!".

If the plant is a species, the specific name is in lower case. In the case of hybrids, the hybrid name is capitalized, but not surrounded by quotes.

Cultivar epithets are surrounded by single quotes.
