Roots or flower spikes?
Hi OB,
I purchased this Sarcochilus (Sarcochilus hartmannii x 'Red Delicious') online in Nov 2023 from Ecuagenera, multiple root growing now, but I am not sure about particular these two structures if they are roots or spikes or one root and one spike.
Lovely experienced people here, any thoughts please?
Thanks.

If the “stem” is on the right, the upper growth looks like a spike to me.

Hi Blueszz,
Thank you for the reply.
Yes, the stem is on the right and I noticed a similar bump on another fan as well with a dark-colored tip.
Can't wait to see the flowers, I will update you here.
Thanks.

They are pretty small, but they look like roots to me.

Now I’m in doubt. A better picture, more in focus, would be helpful. The upper nubbin, is that dark on the left from that growth attached to it? If so, I still think spike. If not it could be both.

Hi Blueszz,
Sorry I missed the message.
The bottom one turn out to be root and upper one is looks spike but its growing very slow, but at the same time orchid itself grown lots of aerial roots faster than the spike.
I have some other Sarcos from SVO, were in spike when I got them and spikes grown faster and some of them are opening the buds now, but the one from photo its spike is still not grown much.
Thanks.
