My name is Verna S. I guess you would call me a "mostly" novice orchid owner. A few years back I purchased my 1st orchid. It was a Zygopetalum Advance Australia. It bloomed for me every year. Even after separating it into 2, the both bloomed for me. Then everything went south and I didn't know how to save them. I didn't buy another orchid until last year. I purchased 4 seedlings, a "Mystic Maze", a "Cocheanthes discolor", "Oncidium Speckled Spire Snowflake" and a "Monnierara Millennium Magic 'Witchcraft'". All are still alive and still small but are now showing new root and leaf growth. Since then, I purchased 10 more orchids! They range from Vandas to Oncidiums to Dendrobiums. I honestly don't know why I chose different species of orchids. They are all doing well. My "Sharry Baby has even given me 2 spikes so far and my Den. Microchip is blooming and blooming! I do regret buying one of the new orchids. It's my Dove Orchid. I didn't do enough research on her and I'm not do sure she'll survive, but I'll post on that another day. Thank you for reading my very 1st post! 😊

Welcome! You can find information here on Orchid Board about all those. The 'Mystic Maze' is a complex Oncidium hybrid. There are forums, accessible from the left yellow menu, for various kinds of orchids. The Search feature in the top maroon menu is useful, especially Advanced Search.

If your Dove Orchid is a Peristeria elata, there are a number of useful threads here on it. It is easy to grow if you give it what it likes, and that is not difficult. But now is not the time to repot it.

Thank you everyone!
@estacion Seca, yes she is a Peristea elata. Everything she's had to go through since she came under my roof, well, let's just say, she's a real fighter! I noticed a brand new root growth and I couldn't be any happier for her! I will definitely be checking out that forum very soon! Im so glad I found this site. Ive learned quite a bit on some of the threads I've read. Thank you all again,
Verna

Welcome to the orchid board. I feel is my duty however, to warn you about orchids. Once you're bitten by the orchid bug, there's no turning back! Oh, and the mantra "I can always fit one more in" is very very true!

Again welcome. There's a lot to learn on here, so participate, and enjoy.
