need help with identification and blooming of a dendrobium
so i bought a new dendrobium from my local nursery. it has a spike with buds and two other spike that are still growing. has no ID and even the owner was confused about its variety.
he said its most probably dendrobium bangawan.a bit of the petals inside can be seen and it has a very deep violet colour. can someone help me with identifying?
and also can someone tell me how should i take care of it and how to make the buds bloom? thanks in advance!!
It appears to be in the Dendrobium phalaenopsis group (I suspect your growers' ID is not right) If you search for that you will find the culture info you need.
As "making the buds bloom"... no need there, if the plant is happy (and this one seems to meet that description) those buds will open when they're ready. (Do protect from cold drafts, and away from ripening fruit that can give off ethylene gas that can cause buds to "blast") As with everything "orchid", patience is vital. (These do bloom within a few weeks of developing the buds... some types can sit there and tease you for months.
