Really really Bad year for Castasetum...

at this point I'm just begging this plant to die already.
I have three castasetums, 2 of their buds got decimated by Santa Ana Wind. 1 is seemling ok.

This one however, is impressively growing well despite all of the abuse it's been receiving (I dropped it like 4 times.) It's going to be so cold and I can't afford to leave it outside anymore, nor I can inside, because my family dont believe in heating (asian family lol.) I'm just hoping the damn thing to go to sleep already.

As long as indoor temps are 55 deg F or above, it should be fine. You can also provide "local heat" with heat mats.

For the plant that doesn't want to go to sleep, push it... stop watering completely. (It's time to do that anyway) Some people trim the leaves, which also pushes it into dormancy. I don't, just stop watering and ignore.

For your orchids in general, consider a space heater like this: SALE - Bio Green Palma 120v Stainless Steel Waterproof Greenhouse Heater It has a fan that runs all the time, creating gentle air movement. I just got one, and it seems quite efficient. Ops, they seem to be out of stock. Actually, for indoors, any old space heater will do, just be careful to keep dry.

I don't have any indoor heating either... You said the plants were decimated by the wind. Well, the walls block winds.

I use a room heater by Vornado. It heats the grow tent quickly, and since I have it connected to a thermostat, it keeps the temperature constant within 2 or 3 degrees. They are available at Home Depot.

ok half of them are starting to go to sleep and one of them is entering flowering stage. The big one is still growing however, I store it in the garage to hopefully induce the dormancy even further. I haven't seen any cold damage yet, but I would rather to retire from their care for the time being.

Once they lose leaves, they're dormant (no degrees of dormancy) Most of mine are almost there... I have stopped watering all of them, which will push the few stragglers. In a few weeks, all will be mostly leafless. It's the dryness, not cold, that pushes them. You do want to keep them above 50 deg F. at the coldest, 55 for a minimum is better.
