Hello, i've been growing orchids for about 2 years, but i've never actually had one of my orchids grow a keiki or seen one in the early stages of development. I was just wondering if that's what i have here, or if it's something else. thanks.
It's living off the mother plant .. just take care of the mother like you normally would .. you have to wait until the keiki grows roots a few good inches before removal .. yours will eventually look like the photo below
I fine mist mine in the morning
my keiki now has 3 leaves and a root nub. The problem now is that the spike is turning brown. If you will notice in the picture above, there is a fork. Only one side of the fork is turning brown. So, one side of the fork is green and below (where the plant is) is still green also. My question is should i be worried and is there anything i can do to hurry the rooting process along? Thanks in advance.
