Question Mini Mark Holmes Spike or Root?

I have this Mini Mark Holmes that I recieved several weeks ago from Oak Hill Gardens (this was a second orchid as the first one sent died due to extreme cold) which was in good condition with healthy roots etc. I repotted it in S/H medium and placed it in the Orchidarium. I have been watching it and seeing the roots getting bigger but now I see what I thought was a root but no its not the same shape could it be a flower spike .

So I am asking you all to tell me is it or is it not a flower spike. I would be surprised if it is but then it is of blooming size.

I have my fingers crossed

TTFN - Sheridan

You have a new root in the foreground and a new spike behind that. BTW, this guy will spike several times a year. Get ready for it!
