Good afternoon and Happy Thanksgiving to all. My question has to do with the new Cymbidium that I purchased, mainly watering and fertilizing. In reading about how to care for this orchid I read that you fertilize during the spring and summer months after the flowers fall off. I understand that you feed during the months that are warmer because Cymbidiums flower during the cooler/colder months of the year. I live in South Florida where the temperature doesn't vary much during the year. The temperatures in spring and summer are hotter than in most states here in the US, fall and winter are also warmer. I use distilled water which I add fertilizer to bring up the nutrients for watering, so do I use less fertilizer in the distilled water during the flowering months (fall through winter)? Would it be better if I mixed the distilled water with my tap water and not fertilize during the months that the plant is in flower? Waiting for a reply, Zoren
Thank you, Ray that's what I thought. I will keep up my normal watering with distilled water plus fertilizer. I hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving
