I just set up a cheap Amazon watering system with all the plants in the bath tub. That way if something “catastrophic” happens, leaks, etc. it is in the bathtub and just drains normally. For the plants that need daily watering, I use a self watering wick and a container of water. I have lights and a humidifier on a timer.
I do typically lose a plant or 2, but that’s mostly when I’m gone during the summer and it is super hot here.
This is what I have for seedlings. 10 gallon trash cans on bottom lasts 2-3 weeks if watered 3 times a week, or maybe a month if watered 2 times a week. But under normal operation I top up the water now and then and plan to swap out the water every other month. Not in the picture, I have an air pump to aerate the reservoirs to reduce pathogens.
Are there spray nozzles that water? Or does the tub just get flooded and slowly drain?
That's a pretty impressive setup. We are hopefully moving at the end of this year and I hope to have significantly more space. Once I do, I may have to pick your brain a bit more about this setup.
