Cattleya leaf with strange discoloration pattern

Hi all,

Attached is an image of a Cattleya lueddemanniana (var. coerulea venosa). It has this strange discoloration on it. Does this look viral, bacterial, or fungal?

I cant be certain but I think it has had this discoloration since I purchased it a couple of years ago, though it looks more striking right now, I think in part because it was backlit this morning.

First photo is the bottom of the leaf with strong back lighting which makes the patterning very prominent Second photo is the top of the leaf, you can't really even tell there's spotting on the back of it. It might be starting to yellow a little bit, but I did divide and repot it recently.

A boring insect, perhaps?

Old mealy bug or scale insect damage can look like that. I agree the pattern alao looks like boring insect damage.
