It's confusing to everyone. Alas, probably will continue (though maybe not at the same pace)... DNA science is going to continue to evolve. The names follow the science, which of course needs to follow new information. Fortunately, some resources (such as orchidroots.com) do track synonyms.

I’m curious to know at what point will this all come to a big mess of nomenclature for the scientists doing this. I’m all for reorganizing if maybe it’ll sort out in a few years.

The renaming will never stop. People need to publish scientific papers to advance their careers. There will always be disagreements on how to interpret data.
