hhmmm... I would give it a try... ask for the two of them
By the way, my Rossioglossum is in bloom since already 5 weeks and all flowers look just perfect... Depending on your conditions, they can last for up to 3 months!
Dorothy, you know I didn't even know I had a local orchid society until a few months ago. Turns out they had meetings once a month that took place literally 1 minute walking distance from my old house!! Anyways we moved and now that spot is over an hour and half away from our new house. I'll have to see if maybe there is another one closer to my new house..we moved to a different county so maybe....good suggestion though I'll have to do some research. Thanks!
Ramón- can rossioglossums be grown like shary baby? I love that one, is the one in the picture yours? It looks like it has much brighter colours than the one in the link.
very nice
kristen- catt flowers don't usually last as long as flowers on oncidiums. Happy sharry babys are know to bloom several times a year. not that you shoudn't buy a cattleya they are really nice -- but just something to think about!! (or, even better, ask for both )
I would recommend a slipper of some kind. Paphs and Phrags would grow very well under the same conditions as your Phals so you wouldn't have to do a lot of fussing. I'm relatively new to slippers. I bought one back in June and now I have 6! I find them to be pretty easy to grow and rebloom.
Ok thanks for the insight. I think for right now, im really leaning towards the sharry baby. Esp. now that you say they can bloom several times in a year..and i like the idea of a nice smelling flower! But im definately going to write all these down so i know for the future. Thanks!!!

yeap, that's my plant. I grow it like an Oncidium (they are close relative!) the colours are indeed lighter than in the link. More yellow and light brown..
Bc. Maikai 'Mayumi' --easy??? That is one I never could get to bloom no matter what I did though it grew like a weed for me. Finally traded it away -- no regrets.
Another place you might take a peek at is right here on the classifieds section of this forum. There are some very nicely priced plants to be found there. Don't forget to check out the "Trade" section as well! While the posts there are aimed at trades, I'm sure a "trade" for cash (if you don't have anything to trade yourself) would be acceptable.
