Default First Miniature Orchids

I received my first orchids yesterday and two of the potted plants are in very small net pots that are very light and tippy. I have a few 3 inch slotted pots that I could put the net pots into and sprinkle some potting mix around the smaller net pots to provide some stability.

As a newbie, I'm reluctant to repot the orchids directly into the larger slotted pots at this time.

Is there a better solution, or should I live with the net pots until the orchids need repotting?

One orchid is a Dendrobium Uncatum, and the other is a Vanda Nana. They have very loose media of sphagnum and what looks like a few large chunks of perlite(?).

As I understand, I do not have enough posts yet to post pictures.

You can do what you propose with both. Those tiny plants shouldn't dry out yet. Seedlings are more difficult than large plants because they're so small.

Vandas if bare root need watering every day. In loose medium you can stretch the watering interval but it will likely be every few days.

If you're growing them on a windowsill you might consider putting them into a large jar or small aquarium for extra humidity until they're bigger. Don't seal tightly; they need air exchange.

Thank you for your advice. They are housed in a bare vivarium with humidity that averages 70%, temp between 70 and 75 (lights on), with a fan.

Yes. Not many people guess that.

By the way, I like your tag line "May the bridges I've burned light my way." Very fitting for many of us.

Lol two of my friends own a Z06, one white, one black. I'm a pickup kind of guy.

One time I saw the black one owned by my buddy in a parking lot. I put a note on his windshield "Sorry I hit your car. I don't have insurance or I'd leave my name. Thanks for being so understanding." He said he spent over an hour looking for scratches.

I need to remember this. Mine is black and it shows any imperfection. However, there is nothing better than a shiny black car.
