That bark looks very fresh, and fairly large. In that sort of mix you really can't overwater... I would be inclined to water more frequently, like very 2-3 days. And water so that it flows through the mix - that flushes out any buildup of hard-water or fertilizer salts, and pulls air into the root zone. That "humid air" around the roots is what it loves.
