Should I Worry about This Lcn. Pseudobulb?

Hi all. I wasn't sure where to post this question.

I was gifted this cutting of a Laeliocatanthe. I currently have it in a bark/charcoal mixture and the plant seems to be sprouting new roots and has new growth.

I cleaned it up, removing the dried sheaths, and noticed how brown this pseudobulb is. The second image was taken a few days ago; the first one was taken three months ago.

The remaining plant seems to be healthy.

Should I cut off the rotting part of the pseudobulb?

And, I'm sure, I should try to discern why it's browning and rotting. No other disease/fungus seems present.

If it is just drying up and turning light brown, I would not be concerned. If it is squishy and/or black, then there could be an issue. Photos are pretty small. If the plant is putting out new growth, it may just be done with that back bulb.

I'll have to examine it closer to see if it's either squishy or dry.

I think my concern is the "discovery" after removing the dried sheath. I knew it wasn't great, but .... so I'm reviewing old pictures to see if there's been change since I received this cutting 3 months ago.

I will post an update....with better pictures.
