Help save this orchid

I was given this orchid and want to bring it back from the near dead. Two big leaves recently fell off and now new growth is coming out from the base of the roots. Help!

You still have viable roots, so you're ahead of the game.

First, Welcome!

It looks like you have two nice new basal growths. If you can follow Ray's advice and get it to start some new roots, I do think you can save it. The main growth likely will die (you may lose that lone leaf) but it will give energy to those new growths, which will grow and eventually bloom. Keeping the "whole system" going while it is developing new roots is key. Don't cut anything!

I agree it might be saved. I think it didn't get enough water. The roots look healthy. Don't repot it yet and don't cut off any roots.

Hi yall, sorry for the late response. I've had some recent life happenings that's kept me away.

Thanks for the welcoming and all the advice. The orchid is starting to look better. The new growth is bigger and the older big leaf has some new growth coming from the stalk. Yall mentioned not to cut anything but I was thinking the old, dead spike should be trimmed off? Also should I trim the dead part from the original big leaf? Thanks again.

Welcome back!
You can cut the old, dead, brown spike. It isn't doing anything. Leave the leaf alone... when it is ready, it will drop of its own accord. But it sounds like you are doing great. That new growth is a basal growth, not a keiki (it shares a root system with the main plant) If the main part of the plant lies, that new growth will keep it going. If the old part survives, you'll have two places that can produce flowers, making an even better display. Keep up the good work!

Awesome, thanks for the info. I googled "basal" and "keiki, and learned a lot more. I'll post back with more progress later. Thanks again for the help.
