What can I do to save my baby phal?

I've just bought this baby today from a small nursery near my place, but as soon as I got home, I found out that it wasn't in a good condition (to me, I don't know, I might be wrong).

The leaves are okay, it's the roots that I worry about. I noticed there are some dead and rotten roots because the media was too moist. Then I removed the soaking wet moss off the roots. Am I doing the right thing?

Oh and I plan to re-pot my baby phal soon. Any ideas on how to do it correctly? Is there a chance for this baby to survive?

First, pics of the plant and roots would be very helpful...in general fir bark works as does moss as long as you are mindful of how much water you give...
Next remove any soft mushy roots and wash the root base in water to remove any decaying stuff, then re-pot. Again, pics are very helpful to offer the best advice.

Depending on what part of Indonesia you live in, the way to grow orchids are diverse.

You are in a country where you practically don't have to do much to grow many tropical orchids that grow in the intermediate to warm range properly (again depending on where you are). For all I know you can probably tie your Phalaenopsis on a tree outdoors in shade to bright shade and not really even water them that much because of the rainy seasons and humidity.

I want to throw this out there, but anggrek bulan (Phalaenopsis amabilis) is the national flower there.

Is my phal going to die? Oh, and I have re-potted it a few days ago, but I was to afraid to cut the yellow roots. And here's what the leaves look like. Does it still have a chance to survive? Thanks

I think so... It doesn't look that bad at all. I would definitely trim the roots and spray with hydrogen peroxide... it kills fungus. If you get it on the leaves, make sure that it dries because it can cause crown rot (it reverts back to water). When repotting, I soak the media for at least 10 minutes to open up the bark. I put 1 tsp of root hormone per gallon when I soak the media. I water once a week by soaking the phal in distilled or pure water for ten minutes. I fertilize every third week, but I have read many different ways to fertilize "weakly weekly". Let me know if this helps or not, or if you have more questions.

I agree. it looks like it was on the verge of some root rot, but repotting it will remedy that.
