Is mineral oil toxic for orchids? Male

I work with vector control for my city public health program, they use mineral oil (almost the same as baby oil) to deter insect on body of water. I can safely assure it doesn't really do anything harmful unless you have the plant under hot light. A rinse will easily do the job to get them off.
