A lot of Dendrobiums do this, especially when newly opened. I have a Pleurothallis that opens from around sunrise to about 8-9 AM depending on temperature, then closes until the next day. It's unusual for a Catt, though. This one is a beauty!

The system will tell you if it's already registered. You do have to use the currently-accepted genus names for the parents on both of these links - the RHS sites are not "friendly" with regard to synonyms. Also when you enter the names of the parents, don't enter cultivar names (the part in single quotes)... just the genus and grex (or species) for each parent.
