The lights are off for the day, but this is the shelving unit I'm converting. Most of my plants are on it, and the others will go in it once it's done. We are going to close it in with plexiglass and line the back with polypropylene pegboard so it's modular.
I'm essentially building a scaled-up version of this
that I saw on YouTube. I have a cabinet that will go to the left to hold the humidifier and thermostats, etc. We should have the plexiglass/pegboard next week so we can start working out the assembly. I will document the process here and maybe even film it for future reference.
I want my orchids to be readily visible, but I will be limiting myself to this one cabinet for the next several years. Once I finish my dual degrees in cybersecurity and software engineering and get some work experience, I plan to find a job in South Korea. Moving one of these massive terrariums and its plants will be bad enough.
Once I'm settled in, however, I wouldn't mind having a second cabinet set up for cooler/shadier types.
