I was a very inquisitive child. I didn't learn without burning my fingers.

Where do they do this? Not doubting, just out of curiosity. I've ordered seedlings from them and assumed (maybe wrongly?) they were house-grown, but I've never seen notes in any descriptions that make a distinction except maybe the "New Arrivals!" section of their website.

I think a lot of their seedlings which they often sell very small (they are also cheap so no offense meant to them), are probably house grown, but they also have rows upon rows of blooming phaleanopsis, oncidium amd cattleya hybrids ready to be sold in bud or bloom. Those probably were brought in to resell.

I dont recall seeing it noted anywhere, but then again it seems pretty clear which is which so i never looked too hard

I might've made too much of a broad statement because I'm familiar with them. And as Louis says above, I haven't looked too much because I as well felt that the difference was somewhat clear.

On their website, in the "Our history" section reads:

Hybrid orchid varieties are grown from seed, or acquired from many growers throughout the world. Superior plants of jungle origin, or of hybrid creation are multiplied in our own laboratory facilities by means of the meristem tissue culture method.

And usually when perusing their listings, if the orchid is lab grown it is indicated. Otherwise, you have to "take a guess," but emails from their team previously shared on this forum, indicate that they resell Phals from Taiwan and other orchids from unspecified wholesalers, whereas their seedlings and young plants are usually grown in-house. So, even though it is not specifically indicated, I feel their practice is transparent enough and therefore I consider them honest and straightforward.

One could say they're both "Orchid growers" and "Orchid brokers." I don't have an issue with that. What I have an issue is with businesses that act more as or solely as "Orchid brokers" but use deceiving language to appear to be "Orchid growers."

Thank you, that's what I figured because of what people have said here on OB. But if there was some key that specified which are house grown I wanted to know! I think Waldor on their price list has a separate category for their own lab grown seedlings.
