I'd leave them at home... Unless they are cloud forest orchids (some impossible to grow pleurothallid species, for example), they will be ok.
Water them well before you leave, let the leaves dry, and place them well away from the windows. Or, if you are spectacularly worried, get a big rubbermaid or tupperware box (a sweater box or the like), put about an inch of moist spagnum on the bottom, and lay your plants on that. You can even close the lid.
If they are tolumnias, encyclias, or epidendrums, chances are really good they won't even notice you are gone. Lots of other mounted things take drying well too.
