Phalaenopsis horizontal cypress plank mount
Hello,
My name is Meredith I am new to this site and board. I am from Key Largo Florida but now live in Nairn Louisiana (South Louisiana). There are not a lot of orchid people in my community, and I have been craving feedback and information, and I found y'all. First I want to say thank you all for being here and having so much information so easily accessible. I apologize now if I am doing this wrong but here goes.
I keep my orchids in my outdoor pavilion and lanai , I have struggled over the years (as well as my plants) with the cold winters here. I also have struggled with space, in the winter we ( my husband and I) have done everything from moving them into my home, shed, and anywhere else lol. I have two bad knees and moving them is a pain literally. So last year I started mounting them on Cypress. I have a friend that harvests old cypress trees from the marsh right here in the local bayou and mills them into planks. He gives me the scrap to play with.
So this allows me to plant multiple orchids on one plank and make less trips inn with the plants, it also has given me more space in my outdoor area.
I thout this would be a good thing to share. So here gose.
