Bummer when that happens... but Psychopsis often sends a side shoot off a damaged spike, and just keeps on blooming. That also happens when the end of the spike is spent - those new side spikes off the old spike can extend blooming, even for years. So never cut a Psychopsis spike until it is brown and really dead all the way to its base! Side branches on the spike are possible (even likely) anywhere on a green spike.
