Psychopsis help

I purchased this plant online. It arrived in a bit of a rough shape. It basically fell out of the pot when I opened up the box. The roots were relatively firm but brown, not new or growing. I soaked it in KelpMax and Quantum-Total then potted it up with fresh bark and put it outside in dense shade (around 90f 45% humidity during the day). The smallest leaf progressively lost its coloration and turned limp and yellow and now the base of the big leaf with the pseudobulb is yellow and black. I moved it inside to the garage (around 85f) and put it into the glass vase you see with water in the bottom (but it is not sitting in the water) to give it more humidity. Anything else I should do for it? I would really like to not lose it of course.

I can't see the pseudobulbs clearly. As you've probably read, these don't like root disturbance.

I would not repot again. Keep the humidity around it as high as you can. Perhaps put it into an old aquarium you find at a yard sale. Keep it in bright shade but without direct sunlight. Cover it with a piece of window glass you can have cut at a hardware store. Cut the glass a little larger or smaller than perfect so you can lift it off the aquarium.

Putting water under the pot is unlikely to help much. High humidity and warmth at the rhizome, not in the medium, will stimulate new root growth. It needs to be enclosed if your ambient humidity is in the 45% range. The existing roots probably can't take up much water, so humidity is more important now than watering. When the medium is dry, water thoroughly, then let drain.

Thank you. Yes, I read they don’t like to be disturbed and hadn’t planned on it, but since it literally fell out of the pot I figured now was as good a time as ever (the bark it came in also didn’t look that great).

It is in a tall cylinder vase, essentially an aquarium/terrarium set up like you suggested. I will try to get better pics of the pseudo bulb soon.

It looks to me like it is not getting enough water, and a container that doesn’t fully surround the entire plant isn’t doing much in terms to raising the humidity, either.

I realize my picture was unclear. The outer cylinder vase is 30” high.

If the pseudobulb is off color or soft I would just call it a loss honestly. If it's just the leaves that are yellowing the plant might recover with time (a lot of time)

Psychopsis is am amazing plant but it can be extremely slow to recover from things.

The pseudo bulb is black-ish but firm. It lost the one leaf and the black and yellow from the base of the good leaf is getting worse. I will attach some more pics.
